As part of Henkel’s strategy for future-ready operating models, we created a completely new innovative circular-economy service. It’s called Comfort Wash and takes the laundry game to the next level. With Persil Samsung Comfort Wash, customers never have to worry about the hassle of buying and storing laundry detergent or the headache of a malfunctioning washing machine again. Instead of buying their machines, they can now simply lease it as long as needed using the new Power Wash service.

The COVID-19 pandemic created an opportunity for Henkel to evolve with changing consumer behavior, including a growing preference for online shopping and direct-to-consumer services. Henkel recognized this trend and made strategic priorities to enhance its online presence and direct-to-consumer reach. Henkel saw a unique opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability and innovation by becoming a pioneer in the transition to a circular-economy business model.
In partnership with Henkel, Etribes ideated, validated and prototyped a new business model that leveraged the subscription-based service concept in a circular economy, with the goal of conserving resources, reducing waste and increasing the customer lifetime value by providing a hassle-free experience that addressed the various needs of washing machine owners.
